As a licensed professional counselor for 20 years, 2 things that created a burden on my (Dave) heart was the cost of counseling and the high number of clients I saw. Carrying this load both emotionally and physically led us to make some changes.

We have lowered the cost of our sessions, and we desire the ability to offer a sliding scale for those with financial limitations. We see fewer people in a week which allows us the flexibility to give people more of our time. It also gives Doreen and I the opportunity to incorporate community discipleship and missions in our regular work schedule, which was our first calling for 20 years on staff with Cru.

Because of these changes, our income from spiritual direction clients will be just a portion of our financial budget. Discipleship and missions will be support based. Therefore, we are asking others to partner with us financially. Ultimately this is a partnership in fulfilling the great commission of Jesus as stated in Matthew 28: 18-20.
